According to him, the safety of the Zaporizhia NPP is ensured, there is no doubt about it. Likhachev also emphasized that Russia follows all the safety principles of the Zaporizhia NPP established by the IAEA: seven global ones and five that were set in relation to the plant, which is actually located in a combat zone.

“And, of course, these five principles that the IAEA outlined for the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant - so, Russia fulfills these five principles,” TASS quotes him.

According to the agency, we are talking about the following principles: do not allow attacks on the station or from its territory, do not station heavy weapons and military personnel on it, do not endanger the power supply of the station, ensure its protection, and also do not take any actions that undermine these principles.

Earlier, the head of Rosatom said that the threat of a nuclear accident at the Zaporizhia NPP can only come from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
