Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Kobayashi said at a press conference on the 19th that in order to pass on the wage increases to small and medium-sized enterprises during this year's spring labor campaign, including the increase in personnel costs, it is important that top management of large companies expressed the idea that it is important to take the initiative in price negotiations with small and medium-sized enterprises.

In this discussion, Chairman Kobayashi commented on the wage increases for small and medium-sized enterprises during this year's spring labor campaign, saying, ``It is no exaggeration to say that it is a social mission for the top management of large companies to negotiate prices with small and medium-sized enterprises. ``I would like small and medium-sized enterprises to negotiate without hesitation,'' he said.

Regarding wage increases for small and medium-sized enterprises, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the Japan Business Federation and Japan Association of Corporate Executives, are compiling requests to their member companies in January in order to pass on increases in wages, including increases in personnel costs.

Chairman Kobayashi said, ``While we have discussions, we will continue to create a cycle that will immediately reflect the rise in prices and labor costs at that time.I think this is what structural wage increases are all about.'' He expressed the idea that price negotiations that take into account rising costs such as labor costs and labor costs are necessary for continued wage increases for small and medium-sized enterprises.
