The flight comparator Kayak.fr has just launched its holiday calculator. The tool allows you to know which destinations are accessible, depending on the nature and duration of the savings. This is an opportunity for households to find out what expenses should be avoided in order to be able to travel more.

So, what everyday expenses would you be willing to give up to treat yourself to a beautiful stay? The flight comparator Kayak.fr has just launched its holiday calculator. The tool allows you to know which destinations are accessible, depending on the nature and duration of the savings. To use this new tool, you must first choose the duration over which you want to save. Once a deadline has been established, it's time to determine what expenses to avoid, such as alcohol, cigarettes, taxis, restaurants or shopping.

Once these steps are completed, the calculator takes care of selecting the destinations accessible worldwide, according to the budget saved. "A person whose New Year's resolution is to quit smoking could save 414 euros in two months and therefore afford a return flight to New York in February or March," Eva Fouquet, vice-president of Kayak, told Europe 1.

A tool based on the consumption habits of the French

Another striking example: stopping eating out and eating out for three months allows you to buy a round-trip flight to Naples, available from 108 euros in April. To set up this tool, Kayak relied on the average costs of the products and services concerned as well as on the consumption habits of the French. According to a survey commissioned by the comparator, a third of them want to travel more in 2024. Of those, more than six in ten are willing to restrict non-essential spending.
