After two sessions without winners, EuroMillions is back in the spotlight again, with a record sum up for grabs. This Friday, players will be able to try their luck at winning nearly €240 million. A historic sum for the European lottery.

What would you do if you won EuroMillions? Players will have the opportunity to ask themselves this question during the next draw, which will take place this Friday, December 8. Already on Tuesday, nearly 217 million euros were up for grabs, but without success. This is the second time in a row that the draw has not found a buyer. Now, the amount at stake this Friday, December 8 is staggering, reaching nearly 240 million euros!

La Française des jeux says it will be the biggest to win in the history of the lottery, since the launch of EuroMillions in 2004. However, this sum can only be wagered five times, before being compulsorily distributed to the winners of the lower ranks.

Slim odds of winning

So far, the biggest win was a whopping €230 million in July 2022. The winning ticket was held by a Briton. France is not to be outdone since in October 2021, a Frenchman had won the prize pool, which reached 220 million euros.

But to get the €240 million on Friday night, you'll have to have your little star on your side. Indeed, the odds of matching the five numbers and the two stoles are tiny: only one chance in 140 million.
