The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has announced that it has added 42 new organizations, including Russia and China, to the list of foreign companies and research institutes that are concerned about the development of weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear weapons and missiles. In principle, when exporting products to organizations on the list, permission is required.

The government compiles a list called the "Foreign User List" of foreign companies and research institutes that are concerned about developing weapons of mass destruction, and in principle requires permission to obtain permission when exporting products and supplies from Japan to prevent diversion to military use.

Regarding this list, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced on the 6th that it has added 42 new companies and research institutes in Russia, China, etc.

The added organizations include North Korea's Ministry of Rocket Industry, China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, and Russian chemical companies, and by country, Russia and Pakistan have 11 organizations, China has 7 organizations, North Korea has 6 organizations, etc.

This brings the total number of entities on the list to 706, and exporting without a permit can result in penalties such as imprisonment and fines.

The new list will be applied from the 11th of this month, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is calling on companies that export to check the latest information.
