After the opening of traffic, the travel time from Guiyang to Jinsha has been shortened from the original 2 hours to about 1 hour; The journey from Guiyang to Chengdu will be shortened from 7 hours to 6 hours.

After the opening of the Guijin Expressway, it will be connected with the Sichuan Gulin (Qianchuan boundary) to Luzhou Expressway under construction, which will become the most convenient expressway passage connecting the two core provincial capitals from Guiyang to Chengdu, and is also one of the twelve ray expressways in Guiyang City.

The main line of Guijin Expressway has a total length of 165.284 kilometers, starting from the intersection of Fenglin Road and Yuntan North Road on the west side of Guiyang City, connecting Donglinsi Road, passing through Guanshanhu District, Baiyun District, Xiuwen County, Xifeng County, Guiyang City, Jinsha County, Bijie City, and ending at Chishui River (Qianchuan boundary) in Qingchi Town, northwest of Jinsha County, Bijie City, and connecting with Chenggui Expressway (Luzhou through Gulin to Jinsha section).

There are 109 large and small bridges, 16 tunnels, 15 toll stations and 4 service areas on the Guijin Expressway. Among them, the Jinfeng Wujiang Bridge, located at the junction of Guiyang and Bijie City, is the longest bridge in the project, with a total length of 1473.5 meters and a main span of 650 meters, and is also the first ultra-wide lane steel truss girder suspension bridge in Guizhou Province that adopts prefabricated parallel steel wire cable strand construction.
