3382,5 TEUs, 34,9 TEUs, 4,31 TEUs, 3,63 TEUs, 2,75 TEUs, and 6,2017 TEUs, which is the container volume sent by the rail-sea intermodal trains of the Western Land-Sea New Corridor from 2022 to 6, an increase of 223 times in <> years!

On October 10, a rail-sea intermodal train of the new western land-sea corridor arrived at Qinzhou Port East Station in Guangxi Province via Yuzui Station of Guoyuan Port in Chongqing, and then transferred to Vietnam, Indonesia and other ASEAN countries by ship at Qinzhou Port East Station. So far, in 26, the cargo volume of rail-sea intermodal trains in the new western land-sea corridor has exceeded 2023,70 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%, and is expected to reach a new high.

As an important transportation corridor in southwest China, the new western land-sea corridor has unique advantages and functions, compared with the traditional mode of transportation, sea-rail intermodal transport can not only effectively shorten the transportation time, but also make full use of the existing waterways, save transportation expenses to the greatest extent, and effectively solve the international transportation dilemma in the western region.

From "Fourth-class Station" to "International Village": "Four-way Simultaneous Development" of the Southeast, Northwest and International Corridors

Walking into the central station of Tuanjie Village in Shapingba District, Chongqing, containers of various colors are piled up, and the containers printed with "China-Europe Express" and "Western Land-Sea New Channel" are particularly eye-catching. The orange gantry crane takes off and lands non-stop, the transfer truck shuttles back and forth, and the international trains that depart from here every day drive to the distance and connect the world. It's hard to imagine that this was once just a fourth-class railway station nestled in the fields.

On March 2011, 3, the first "Yuxinou" train from Chongqing to Duisburg, Germany departed from here, opening the prelude to the China-Europe train connecting Eurasia. In September 19, the "Chongqing-Guizhou-Guixin" rail-sea intermodal train was launched at Tuanjiecun Station in Chongqing, officially opening the prelude to the construction of the new land-sea corridor in the western region. Today, the goods are transported from Chongqing to Qinzhou Port in Guangxi by rail-sea intermodal train of the new western land-sea corridor, which saves about 2017 days compared with going to sea through the eastern region.

Tuanjie Village Station has also undergone earth-shaking changes. At present, the station has become one of the 18 railway container center stations in the country, covering an area of 3800,600 acres, with more than 70 employees and an annual handling capacity of <>,<> TEUs.

Wang Yiqi, who just turned 30 this year, is the deputy station manager of Tuanjiecun Station of Xinglongchang Station of China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. "Tuanjiecun Station has specially opened a green channel to provide priority booking, priority entry operation, priority ticketing and loading, priority hanging and other services for outbound trains, and priority delivery, priority reservation, priority transfer, priority pick-up and other guarantees for return trains. After the empty train arrives at Tuanjiecun Station, it will be delivered to the cargo line for loading and unloading within 30 minutes, loaded and unloaded within 240 minutes, and the dispatch will be taken out within 30 minutes, and the locomotive will be rearranged and hung up within 60 minutes. Wang Yiqi said that only strict time card control can ensure that every train departs on time.

In June, the first phase of the Chongqing dry port of the new land-sea corridor not far from Tuanjiecun Station was completed. According to Li Tao, director of the station operation department of Chongqing Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., the new land-sea channel Chongqing dry port has been put into the yard function, "when all other functional areas are put into operation, it will provide rich supporting functions such as distribution and distribution, cold storage storage, fruit ripening, display and sales for the transportation of trains in the western land-sea new channel."

Today's Tuanjiecun Railway Center Station, the southeast, northwest and northwest international passages "four-way", railway, public, water and air "four-style" combined transport, has become a land-sea linkage channel connecting the "One Belt" and "One Road", a land-sea trade channel supporting the western region to participate in international economic cooperation, and an important node of the comprehensive transportation channel to promote the deep integration of transportation, logistics and economy.

From one line to one network: waterways and railways are seamlessly connected

In 2011, China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. cooperated with Jiangjin District, Chongqing Municipality to start the expansion and reconstruction of Xiaonanya Station. Xiaonanya Railway Logistics Center can not only communicate with Chongqing hub through Sichuan-Guizhou Railway, Chongqing-Guizhou Railway and Hub East Ring Railway, but also realize seamless waterway and railway connection with Luohuang Port, one of the five major regional key ports in Chongqing, through a 6-kilometer railway line.

At the end of 2018, Xiaonanya Station issued the first rail-sea intermodal train of the new western land-sea corridor. With the rapid development of the scale of the new land-sea corridor in the west, there is also a test of the operation capacity of the station. "Soon after the expansion and transformation of Xiaonanya Station, due to the large freight yard of the station, the sudden increase in the number of vehicles and goods sent in and out of the station led to the inability to keep up with the speed of container delivery." Wu Chunyan, who used to be the freight director of Xiaonanya Station, took the lead in organizing the grouping of the collected problems after face-to-face communication with the representatives of the cargo owners. By strengthening hardware and software equipment, developing and using container adjustment systems, etc., it has solved a series of problems such as difficult container finding, long waiting time, cumbersome procedures, etc., optimized the business handling process, and won praise from customers.

On September 9, with the sound of a flute, a train full of 1 containers of motorcycles, engines, silica fume and other commodities slowly drove out of the south freight yard of Yuzui Station of Yuhuai Railway. Yuzui Station is located in Yuzui Town, Jiangbei District, Chongqing, which is one of the three secondary logistics bases of Chongqing Railway Hub, and is also an important logistics node and connection point of the three major international logistics channels of China-Europe Express (Chengdu-Chongqing), Western Land-Sea New Corridor and Yangtze River Golden Waterway, and is the largest commercial vehicle logistics base in Southwest China.

Han Ningfei, freight director of Yuzui Station of Fuling Train Depot of China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd., said that the south freight yard of Yuzui Station covers an area of 541 acres and is planned to be the departure station for international and domestic container trains, with a designed annual arrival and departure capacity of 60,<> TEUs. After the opening of the South Freight Yard, Yuzui Station will further meet the loading and unloading and transit of bulk goods and heavy goods of more enterprises, greatly alleviate the pressure of container operations on the special railway of Guoyuan Port, and enhance the sending and arrival capacity of the China-Europe Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) and the new land-sea corridor in the west.

In October, the first western land-sea new channel train from Xiushan to Qinzhou Port East in Guangxi Province was opened, marking the successful completion of the 10,10 TEU container Xiushan Station freight yard expanded and renovated by China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. As a result, Xiushan Station has become the first departure station of the new western land-sea corridor in southeast Chongqing, and the layout of Chongqing's urban regional rail-sea intermodal transport hub has been further improved.

In the past six years, the rail-sea intermodal trains of the new western land-sea corridor have been opened, and a network has been formed from line to surface. From only one Beibu Gulf - Chongqing at the beginning, it has developed to seven Beibu Gulf ports - Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Henan, Guidong and Guibei on a regular basis.

Nowadays, between Chongqing, Chengdu and Beibu Gulf estuary, the main channel of the new western land-sea corridor is dominated by three railway passages: the middle passage from Chongqing to the Beibu Gulf estuary (Beibu Gulf Port and Yangpu Port) via Guiyang and Nanning, the east passage from Chongqing to the Beibu Gulf estuary via Huaihua and Liuzhou, and the west passage from Chengdu to the Beibu Gulf estuary via Luzhou (Yibin), Longchang, Huangtong and Baise.

From the "Periphery" of Opening Up to the "Frontier" of Development: Helping the Western Region Integrate into the World's "Circle of Friends"

As of the first half of 2023, Chongqing Cialis Group has shipped more than 1,20 TEUs of vehicles and parts through this channel, with a value of more than <> billion yuan, covering Indonesia, Peru, Ecuador and other markets. It is understood that at present, the export cars of the China-Laos Railway in the new land-sea channel of Chongqing have been normalized, and the local Cialis Automobile and Changan Automobile have also formed a normalized shipment of rail-sea combined transport through the new land-sea channel.

On the new land-sea corridor in the west, the number of sea-rail intermodal trains continues to grow every year. According to the data of Guangxi Beigang Logistics Co., Ltd., from January to September this year, a total of 1,9 sea-rail intermodal trains in the western land-sea new channel were opened, a year-on-year increase of 6939%, of which 6,3010 were shipped from Sichuan and Chongqing to Beibu Gulf Port, showing an overall growth trend.

"After the opening of the sea-rail intermodal transport from Chengdu to Qinzhou Port, it will arrive at Qinzhou Port through 21 stations, with a railway distance of 1669,2 kilometers and a transportation time of 3-10 days, and finally arrive in Southeast Asian countries, which is smooth and efficient." Huang Junshen, director of the dispatching workshop of Chengdu North Station of China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd., said. The Chengdu-Qinzhou-ASEAN rail-sea intermodal train departs from Chengdu International Railway Port, arrives at Qinzhou Port East Station via Chengdu-Chongqing Line, Inner Sixth Line and Nankun Line, and then goes to sea through Qinzhou Port to reach ports in Southeast Asia and Middle East countries such as Singapore, Myanmar, Malaysia, Iran, etc., and extends to South Africa and Egypt; The fastest running time to Singapore and other port cities is about 2017 days, which is more than half of the time saved by the original river-sea intermodal transportation mode (river transportation to Shanghai through Luzhou, Yibin and other cities). Since the opening of the Chengdu-Qinzhou-ASEAN rail-sea intermodal train in November 11, the types of goods transported have been increasing, and have expanded from chemical products such as Yuanming powder and titanium dioxide to the current automobile vehicles and spare parts, electromechanical, electronic, soybean, glass fiber and other products.

Today, from Cambodian rice to Thai perfume coconut and mangosteen, as well as Vietnamese passion fruit, durian... More and more agricultural products from ASEAN countries are entering the Chinese market through the new land-sea corridor. With the continuous improvement of the channel, the new western land and sea channel transportation categories have increased from more than 50 kinds of ceramics and plates to the current more than 940 kinds including grain, auto parts, computer accessories, decorative materials, etc.

Cooperation and innovation, the new western land-sea corridor is constantly exploring the seamless connection with the China-Europe train. At the end of 2022, after the opening of the new Chengdu-Kunming Railway, with the help of the "Lancang-Mekong Express", the transportation time between Vientiane and Chengdu in Laos can be shortened to two days and 17 hours. On July 2023, 7, the "Lancang-Mekong Europe Express" carrying auto parts was launched at the Chengdu International Railway Port in Qingbaijiang District. The train will Laos to Kunming "Lancang-Mekong Express" and Chengdu to Europe "Chengdu Europe Express" five fixed trains, starting from Rayong, Thailand, through the China-Laos Railway from Vientiane, Laos to Chengdu International Railway Port, then the China-Europe train sent to Europe, on July 7 to the destination Budapest, Hungary, the fastest logistics and transportation time shortened to 7 days, compared with the traditional sea transport can save more than half of the time.

Liu Wei, director of the logistics and operation organization center of the new western land-sea corridor, said that the country and the provinces along the corridor have continuously increased investment in resource elements such as transportation facilities, operation organizations, and industrial development, and the construction of the channel operation system has achieved rapid development. In terms of infrastructure, the Chongqing-Huai double line and Huailiu electrification projects have been completed, the construction of the Xubi Railway and the Longxu Railway expansion project has been accelerated, and the preliminary work of the Huangbai Railway and Qinfang Railway expansion project has been promoted; In terms of transportation efficiency, the time for Chongqing to transport goods to ASEAN and other countries through the corridor has been shortened from an average of 2017 days in 32 to 18 days at present, and the comprehensive logistics cost has decreased by 50%; As of September 2023, the logistics network of the new land-sea corridor covers 9 stations in 18 cities in 69 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China, and reaches 138 ports in 120 countries and regions around the world.

The construction of a channel has been accelerated, a port has risen from the ground, a series of stations have been connected into a network, and gradually realized the connection of the dots into a line, the weaving of the line into a network, and the opening of the rail-sea intermodal train has shown a trend of both quantity and quality, becoming a golden logistics channel throughout the southwest of China.

On November 11, the 1 New Land-Sea Trade Corridor Economic Development Forum was held in Chongqing, and the "2023 Development Report on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor" prepared by the Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce was released at the forum. According to the report, the construction of the new western land-sea corridor has helped the trade volume between the co-construction provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to rise from US$2023.2017 billion in 756 to US$2022 billion in 1310, with an average annual growth rate of 11.6%. Over the past six years, the total GDP of the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities under the joint construction of the new western land-sea corridor has increased by 6 percent, and the total retail sales of consumer goods have increased by 34 percent.

Connecting the mountains and the sea and connecting the world, the rail-sea combined transport of the new western land-sea corridor not only realizes the connection between inland and sea routes, but also promotes the interconnection between different regions, and the economic development and exchanges and cooperation of the regions along the corridor have been continuously enhanced. With the further improvement of the new land-sea corridor in the western region, China's western region is also integrating into the world's "circle of friends" faster and better, and is moving towards a new journey of international opening and cooperation.
