According to reports, with the popularization of intelligent lifestyles, electronic door locks have entered thousands of households, and users have saved the trouble of "having to bring a key when going out". However, the reporter's investigation found that in recent years, it is not uncommon for consumers to be trapped due to the failure of electronic door locks across the country. National supervision and random inspection showed that 17.1% of electronic door locks were of unqualified quality.

Electronic door lock is a new type of security product that uses password, fingerprint, face brushing and other unlocking methods. Because of its advantages of convenience and intelligence, it is favored by more and more consumers. Data shows that in 2021, the sales volume of electronic door locks on e-commerce platforms alone will reach 458.<> million sets.

However, on a professional consumer complaint platform, there are more than 3,000 complaint records about electronic door locks. The reporter's investigation found that "electronic door lock failure trapped people" and "door lock abnormal opening and poor anti-theft performance" are the two most prominent problems reflected by consumers.

Although China has introduced national standards and industry standards, but some door lock companies have not strictly implemented the standards, the State Administration of Market Supervision for three consecutive years electronic door lock product quality national supervision and random inspection failure rate of 11.7%, 34.1%, 17.1% - unqualified electronic door locks can not protect the safety of the home.

As a result, some electronic door locks have become pseudo security products that "bad guys can't prevent it, and the owner can't open it". Since many door lock manufacturers claim that electronic door locks will "improve home security performance" when promoting, consumers rely more on electronic door locks in terms of security after purchasing and using. But the result may be that instead of becoming safer, the home has become more dangerous.

In this regard, consumers should not be fooled by merchants when choosing electronic door locks, and prefer certified products that meet relevant standards. In case of "electronic door lock failure", protect the rights of the door lock company in accordance with the law; If the electronic door lock defect caused economic losses, to the door lock company to claim, this is also an important move to force the product qualification.

In addition, it is also necessary to improve the national standard for electronic door locks. Although the "General Technical Conditions for Lock Safety" formulated in 2008 covers electronic locks, it lacks specific requirements for the unique performance of electronic door locks, such as electronic identification and intelligence, and needs to be improved in a problem-oriented manner. This is the basis for improving the security of electronic door locks in China.

It is gratifying that China has started to formulate national mandatory standards for electronic door locks, which are expected to be promulgated and implemented next year. It is expected that through the implementation of product quality control and certification, consumers can use safer locks.
