Recently, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released automobile production and sales data for September. According to the data, automobile production and sales in September reached 9.9 million units and 285.285 million units, up 8.10% m/m, up 7.6% y/y, and up 6.9% y/y, respectively. From January to September, vehicle production totaled 5.1 million units, up 9.2107% y/y, and sales totaled 5.2106 million units, up 9.7% y/y, down 3.8 percentage points from January to August, and sales growth up 2.1 percentage points. In September, retail sales of passenger cars reached 8.0 million units, up 1.0% y/y and 2.9% m/m. Since the beginning of this year, the cumulative retail sales have reached 201.8 million units, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%.

Dialysis of the third quarter production and sales data, in the third quarter of this year, the overall performance of automobile production and sales was better than expected, the heat of the car market continued, and the "golden nine silver ten" effect reappeared. In September, automobile production and sales reached a record high in the same period, and new energy vehicles and automobile exports continued to perform well. In addition, since the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Commerce has promoted the "9 Cities Linkage" Auto Festival and the "Thousand Counties and Thousands of Towns" new energy vehicle consumption season activities, and various consumption promotion measures such as auto shows and the issuance of consumption coupons in various places are undoubtedly conducive to further promoting automobile consumption, driving and releasing greater consumption potential, and at the same time, it has a good effect on boosting confidence in the car market.

In the third quarter of this year, why was the overall performance of automobile production and sales better than expected? Chen Shihua, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said: On the one hand, with the gradual emergence of the policy combination effect, China's economic operation continues to recover, positive factors accumulate and increase, production and demand continue to improve, enterprises generally remain optimistic about market expectations, and the manufacturing boom further expands compared with August; On the other hand, a series of policies to promote consumption have been introduced at the national level, and the local level has responded positively, successively formulating measures such as issuing consumption coupons and car purchase subsidies, coupled with the concentrated listing of new products of enterprises in the autumn, the stabilization and recovery of the logistics industry has also driven the growth of trucks, and the market has generally shown a trend of "not light in the off-season, more prosperous in the peak season".

With the continuous development of local consumption promotion policies online, various auto shows and other offline activities, the effect of driving consumption continues to be reflected. Recently, the Passenger Association released data showing that in September this year, the national retail sales of passenger cars reached 9.201 million units, a year-on-year increase of 8.5% and a month-on-month increase of 0.5%.

In terms of exports, this year's overall automobile exports continued the strong growth characteristics at the end of last year. According to the statistics of the China Passenger Transportation Association, passenger car exports (including finished vehicles and CKD) in September were 9,35 units, up 7% y/y and 50% m/m. Passenger car exports from January to September were 8.1 million units, up 9% y/y. NEVs accounted for 267.7% of total exports in September. With the increase in export capacity, exports of own-brand vehicles reached 68,9 units in September, up 25% y/y and 4% m/m. Exports of joint ventures and luxury brands were 9,29 units, up 7% y/y.

Entering October, the market paid more attention to the economic trend and policy trend in the fourth quarter of this year. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers expects that with the continuous implementation of various policies to promote automobile consumption and stabilize industry growth, the cumulative effect will form a strong support for the automobile market in the fourth quarter and help the automotive industry achieve the goal of stable growth throughout the year.

Industry insiders said that with the continuation of the peak season in October, superimposed on the delivery of many models, the sales volume of major OEMs in October can be expected, and the product strength of independent brands will be further highlighted. In addition, as Chinese car companies continue to reap results in their overseas layout, the potential of overseas markets is gradually released, and more and more domestic OEMs deploy overseas markets, in addition to continuing to expand sales in the Western European market, the exports of independent brands to Southeast Asia and South America and other countries are also very strong, and automobile exports will continue to grow throughout the year.

Better meet the diversified automobile consumption needs of consumers.
