Tengchong, May 5 (ZXS) -- In the post-epidemic era, how can the cultural and tourism industry open up a new situation in development? On the 19th, at the "May 19 China Tourism Day" Tourism High-quality Development Forum held in Tengchong, Yunnan, representatives of the industry and academia gave their answer: promote the transformation of the cultural tourism industry to green and low-carbon and achieve high-quality development.

Previously, affected by the epidemic, the cultural travel industry was hit hard. Since 2023, with the continuous optimization and adjustment of epidemic prevention and control policies, China's cultural tourism market has ushered in a strong recovery. According to data from the data center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the total number of domestic tourism trips during the "May Day" holiday this year totaled 2 million, a year-on-year increase of 74.70%, and recovered to 83.2019% of the same period in 119 on a comparable basis; The domestic tourism revenue reached 09.1480 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 56.128%, and recovered to 90.2019% of the same period in 100 on a comparable basis. People's demand for travel is better than before the pandemic, and there are also many new changes.

Ma Baoyun, head of Baidu marketing content marketing, introduced that the "2023 Industry Recovery White Paper - Baidu Search Big Data Insights" shows that consumers' demand for high-end hotels and characteristic homestays has increased significantly; In January this year, the search for niche scenic spots nationwide increased by 1% year-on-year; In April, night market and Daji search increased by 186% and 4% year-on-year, respectively.

The characteristics of China's post-pandemic tourism market are very similar to Switzerland Tourism's previous judgment. Ge Lei, Chief Cultural Tourism Expert of CYTS Holdings Co., Ltd. and Vice President of CYTS Research Institute, said: "As one of the most mature countries in the world for tourism development, Switzerland Tourism has pointed out that after the epidemic, people are eager for more beautiful, niche, sustainable, nature-friendly and green small group travel. To this end, Switzerland has proposed a sustainable tourism plan, encouraging the use of public transport and enhancing the sense of tourism experience by measuring mountains and rivers on foot.

"Looking at the whole country, many provinces have explored the road of green, low-carbon and sustainable development." Ge Lei said that the garbage-free grassland demonstration area built by Gansu Province in Gannan has achieved remarkable results; Zibo, which has recently exploded on the Internet in China, has encouraged intensive barbecue operation to avoid disturbing the people many years ago, promoted smokeless ovens, and used high-voltage static resistance to cut off air pollution; Founded in Shangri-La Yunnan and known as one of the "best small hotel brands in China", Songtsam Group has set out to build China's first zero-carbon hotel, promoting the internationalization and high-quality development of domestic hotels.

Lou Kewei, member of the leading party group and deputy director of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said that low-carbon tourism conforms to the needs of the times and is also an inevitable trend in tourism development. The 14th Five-Year Plan for Cultural and Tourism Development of Yunnan Province emphasizes the development of low-carbon tourism and puts forward a series of ways and measures to achieve sustainable development. Although Yunnan faces challenges such as insufficient investment in low-carbon construction, lack of high-quality talents, insufficient use of low-carbon technologies, and weak infrastructure construction, excellent low-carbon tourism brands and projects such as Songtsam Travel, Secret Mid-Levels Hotel, and Fuxian Lake Plateau Sailing Base have emerged.

The "Yunnan Low-carbon Tourism and the Sustainable Development Action of the Whole Value Chain" released on the same day pointed out that in the next step, Yunnan will focus on low-carbon action as the starting point for high-quality tourism transformation, give play to the government's collaborative and overall guiding role, build a low-carbon sustainable tourism evaluation and certification system, public value guidance, and build a low-carbon circle of friends to promote low-carbon tourism, and help China's tourism achieve higher quality green and sustainable development.
