China News Service, Beijing, March 9 (Reporter Li Xiaoyu) Dong Mingzhu, deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman and president of Gree Electric, proposed during the National Two Sessions in 2023 to establish an elimination mechanism for "overdue service" home appliances to regulate the circulation of second-hand home appliances.

Dong Mingzhu said that the elimination of "overdue service" home appliances is on the one hand to eliminate potential safety hazards that may arise from this, on the other hand it can also promote enterprise product research and development, which is conducive to expanding domestic demand, promoting product updates and iterations, and realizing consumption upgrades.

She suggested that household air conditioners could be considered as a pilot to introduce a labeling system for safe service life and formulate national standards for safe service life.

Manufacturers should clearly inform consumers of the cut-off time of the safe service life, so as to facilitate and guide consumers to replace old home appliances in time.

Dong Mingzhu also suggested regulating the second-hand appliance distribution market.

She believes that there should be normative requirements for the relevant links of second-hand home appliance sales, such as the implementation of the "ID card" system for waste home appliances, requiring old home appliances to be identified by the responsible person and pasted with signs before entering the second-hand market.

Dong Mingzhu said that second-hand home appliances should pass a third-party test before they enter the trading market, and it is strictly forbidden to continue to sell second-hand home appliances that have exceeded their service life, have hidden quality problems, and have seriously degraded performance.

In a recent interview with the media, Dong Mingzhu also responded to the topic of "women's age anxiety".

She believes that for women in the workplace, age is not important, but mentality is very important.

"If you have a dream, you won't care too much about the anxiety brought about by age." (End)
