As expected, after the tender is announced, the EU will sign the first contracts with suppliers from the United States, Africa and the Middle East by June.

Šefčović expressed hope that a new system would be created that would increase competition, attract new suppliers and help lower energy prices.

According to the deputy head of the EC, more than 50 companies from around the world are interested in cooperation with European countries on the issue of the energy platform.

Earlier, the senior vice-president of the Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor, Eirik Warness, said that Norway cannot completely replace Russia in the EU energy market.
