The Japanese subsidiary of the German automaker "BMW" has notified the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of the recall of about 110,000 vehicles, saying that there is a problem with the engine and in the worst case it may lead to a fire.

The recall covered 25 models, including BMW's "X1 xDrive 18d" and "118d" imported to Japan, and BMW's small car brand "MINI"'s "Cooper D Crossover" from February 2015. About 110,000 units were manufactured by June last year.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, there is a problem with the exhaust gas recirculation device of the engine, and in the worst case, there is a risk of fire if soot accumulates in the intake pipe.

Of the 29 malfunction reports received from users, two fires occurred, but no one was injured.

From the 7th, BMW and others will perform program correction work free of charge so that defects in exhaust gas recirculation devices can be detected quickly at dealers nationwide.
