The government has designated the three sea areas of Akita Prefecture and Chiba Prefecture as areas for intensive development for the spread of offshore wind power generation, and has announced that it has approved the plans of major trading companies that have received orders for the project.

The plan is to start operating between 2028 and 2030.

In order to expand the introduction of renewable energy, the government has designated sea areas suitable for offshore wind power generation as "promotion areas" based on the law, and is trying to spread them.

Of these, the government has received orders from major companies that have received project orders for three sea areas: ▽ "off Noshiro City, Mitane Town, and Oga City" in Akita Prefecture, ▽ "off Yurihonjo City", and ▽ "off Choshi City" in Chiba Prefecture. It announced that it has approved plans for trading companies such as Mitsubishi Corporation.

In the three sea areas, it is allowed to preferentially conduct power generation business for a maximum of 30 years until 2052, and the operation will start in September 2028 in ``Choshi City offshore'' in Chiba Prefecture, and in ``Akita Prefecture''. Noshiro City, Mitane Town, and Oga City" are scheduled for December 2028, and ▽ "Yurihonjo City Off" is scheduled for December 2030.

On the other hand, since a specific company won all the projects, the government decided to review the evaluation criteria for bidding to encourage the participation of various companies.

On top of that, we are planning to start public offering to select business operators for four new sea areas in Akita, Nagasaki, and Niigata prefectures by the end of this month.
