A group of experts who have been discussing the current government's labor reform plan came up with a recommendation yesterday (12th).

The key is to make the 52-hour work week flexible and reorganize the wage system to be performance-oriented.

Labor is fighting back.

Reporter Kim Soo-young reports.

Currently, the 52-hour work system is based on a weekly basis.

The Future Labor Market Research Association recommended that workers make their own choices on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis.

For example, if monthly overtime work is allowed by labor-management agreement, you can work more than 52 hours and up to 69 hours in a specific week, and instead, only the average weekly working hours need to be set within 52 hours.

[Kwon Hyuk/Professor, Pusan National University Law School: If you increase the possibility of choosing working hours ,

the efficiency will increase when you work when you want to work, and as a result, the total amount of (work) may decrease.]

He insisted that the salary level system that determines the salary should be modified based on performance.

[Kwon Soon-won/Professor of Business Administration, Sookmyung Women's University: The pay scale system does not reflect the needs and demands of the labor force of various classes and is a system that makes

it difficult to realize the value of equal pay for equal work.]

[Lee Ji-hyeon / Spokesperson of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions: We are judging that this is a return to the long-time work system, and these will eventually reduce the worker's right to health or quality of life...

.]

When changing employment rules, it is also a source of conflict that consent is obtained by occupational group or occupational category instead of a large union.

The government fully accepted the recommendation and announced that it would take relevant legislative measures, but in the current situation of the National Assembly, it does not seem easy to pass the law as recommended.
