The Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) continues its rapid growth and consolidates its position as one of the fastest growing renewable energy companies in the world, in line with the forward-looking vision of the wise leadership, to spread environmentally friendly energy solutions, and advance international efforts to confront climate change to ensure a sustainable future.

Masdar's portfolio of projects is spread in more than 40 countries around the world, with a total value of more than $20 billion (73.5 billion dirhams).

During the past year alone, Masdar expanded its portfolio of clean energy projects by 40%, bringing its total production capacity to more than 15 gigawatts, in addition to the contribution of these projects to avoiding the release of about 19.5 million tons of carbon emissions annually.

Masdar aspires to consolidate its position as a leading national company in the field of clean energy in the UAE, and seeks to enhance its production capacity to reach 100 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030, noting that the largest percentage will be attributed to modern wind and solar energy technologies, which contributes to the consolidation of Its position as a global leader in this sector.

Masdar also aspires to expand its emerging green hydrogen business at a rapid pace, to reach an annual production capacity of one million tons of hydrogen by 2030, which is equivalent to avoiding more than six million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Masdar's objectives are in line with the UAE's strategy to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, and actively contribute to supporting its preparations to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) next year.

Masdar is working to harness its expertise to support the development of renewable energy projects, and in light of the UAE's readiness to host the next session of the "COP 28" conference, Masdar is looking forward to cooperating with its partners to make tangible progress in the field of energy transition that would bring benefits Big on both economic growth and climate action.

Masdar was a pioneer in investing in green hydrogen, as the company is currently working to lead qualitative initiatives in this vital sector, including the establishment of a pilot plant project in Masdar City, the leading sustainable city in Abu Dhabi, to explore opportunities for developing green hydrogen and sustainable fuel, and producing Kerosene from electricity for transportation and aviation purposes, in cooperation with local and international partners.

This initiative also falls within the framework of the Abu Dhabi Hydrogen Alliance, which was formed according to a memorandum of understanding between Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, and the ADQ Holding Company, and aims to develop the hydrogen economy in the country.
