Akio Toyoda, chairman of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, has shown a stance of seeking discussions that will lead to strengthening Japan's competitiveness in the taxation system related to automobiles, toward the tax reform of the next fiscal year, which will be discussed in earnest from the 18th.

The Liberal Democratic Party and the New Komeito Party will hold a general meeting of the Tax Research Commission on the 18th and begin full-scale discussions toward tax reform next fiscal year.

Chairman Akio Toyoda said, "The automobile industry does not just want to reduce taxes. Rather than end up in a tug-of-war between ministries and agencies about where the financial resources are, we should unite Japan as a country. I would like to ask for a discussion on how we want to take the money and how to utilize the collected tax money," he said, showing his willingness to seek discussions that will lead to strengthening Japan's competitiveness.
