China News Agency, Tangshan, November 3 (Baiyunshui Mengchao) The first batch of 46 wide-gauge passenger cars and 169 boxes of spare parts developed by CRRC Tangshan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. (referred to as CRRC Tangshan Company) to be exported to Pakistan will be delivered to Pakistan on the 3rd. Tianjin Port is fully loaded and shipped.

Different from the previous export products, this is the first time that China's passenger car technology with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour has been exported internationally.

  According to Su Weiyue, manager of the Pakistan Passenger Car Project of CRRC Tangshan Company, the company has signed a contract with the Pakistan Railway Department for a 230-car project through international bidding in 2021, and the first batch of cars will be rolled off the production line on August 26, 2022.

The project includes both localized manufacturing and technology transfer. This product + technology + service "combination" model will become another "golden business card" for China's rail transit equipment to go out.

  Su Weiyue said that the design speed of the wide-gauge passenger car exported to Pakistan is 160 kilometers per hour, using a 1676mm wide-gauge bogie and a lightweight body structure, fully considering the actual operational needs of Pakistan's railways, and achieving a perfect combination of large passenger capacity and small axle load.

The interior of the vehicle is made of environmentally friendly and lightweight materials, and the seats, armrests and other components are designed with ergonomic structures, which significantly improves the comfort of passengers.

  According to the contract, CRRC Tangshan will transfer relevant technologies to Pakistan after exporting the first batch of vehicles, assist the Pakistani railway department to upgrade and transform the passenger car production line, and train relevant personnel.

At present, the first batch of user training for the Pakistan Railway Department has been successfully completed in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, and 25 trainees have successfully obtained completion certificates and related qualification certificates.

  "The first batch of vehicles was loaded and shipped, marking an important step for Pakistan's bus project from product export to technology transfer." Su Weiyue said that in the next step, the Chinese and Pakistani teams will strengthen cooperation to jointly complete the follow-up vehicles in Pakistan. Assemble and promote the upgrading of Pakistan's railway passenger car technology.
