Germany is running away from investors for battery factories.

After Tesla, the Swedish start-up Northvolt is now pushing its plans into an uncertain future.

Northvolt caused anticipation in Schleswig-Holstein.

But investors now lack stable future prospects for Germany.

Others stay away from the start because of huge subsidies in the US and gigantic energy costs in Germany.

At the same time, current energy prices do not represent an insurmountable fate for the future: If Germany and Europe were to secure stable supplies of natural gas and more sustainable energy in the medium term, from around 2024 onwards, the prospects could look rosier.

Not only for foreign investors, who could then interpret today's gas prices as short-term outliers, but also for domestic industry.
