And the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology stated, in a statement yesterday, that under the qualitative partnership, work will begin between the “Pure Health” group, one of the largest providers of health care services in the UAE, and a member of the Ministry’s National Value Added Program, with each of the Abu Dhabi Medical Supplies Company. (ADMD), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Industrial Projects Group, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and Borouge Petrochemical Company to establish a production line for patented medical equipment and supplies in the Emirates in Abu Dhabi, at a cost of 110 million dirhams, and raw materials from Borouge Petrochemical Company, and to provide industrial land through Abu Dhabi Ports Group in ICAD 1 to produce medical needles, insulin syringes, catheters, artificial respiration products, and personal protective equipment.

Pure Health will work with Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) Ras Al Khaimah, to establish the first factory in the Middle East to produce “Glargine” (the most important biological alternative to insulin) for the treatment of diabetes, in Ras Al Khaimah, at a value of 150 million dirhams, which will be available in the country Obtaining an insulin substitute at competitive prices and providing a national competitive advantage by exporting to various regional and global markets, which are witnessing an increase in demand.

According to the statement, these partnerships contribute to ensuring 15% of jobs in the two projects for citizens and creating job opportunities for them in highly skilled jobs.

The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Al-Jaber, stressed that "the qualitative partnerships signed support the integration of supply chains and enhance our industries to achieve self-sufficiency and competitiveness of exports in the pharmaceutical and medical supplies sector."

"These partnerships are a national model for partnership between manufacturers and suppliers to benefit from purchase contracts under the umbrella of the partners of the National Value Added Program," he said.

He pointed to "coordinating national efforts by providing competitive financing, industrial land, primary raw materials, skilled competencies and the latest standards for production quality."
