The Kakao service failure, which started with a fire, has not been fully normalized until today (18th), the fourth day.

Mail service is expected to be restored sometime today, but it will take more time to fully recover.

Kakao announced this morning that the main functions of Kakao Mail have been restored.

Until today, the fourth day after the Kakao service stopped working, 11 of Kakao's total services, including Kakao Bank, Kakao T, and Kakao Webtoon, have been restored.

However, the portal service Daum cafe search, the advertising message function of the Talk channel, the Talk drawer, and the shopping search function are still not functioning properly.

The next email has not been normalized yet, but Kakao expects it to be restored as early as today.

Kakao explained, "Due to the amount and complexity of data and the specificity of recovery equipment, the recovery of core services such as mail and talk channels is being delayed."

Naver, which suffered a failure like Kakao due to a data center fire, said that most of its services can now be used normally, but some blogs have issues with images not showing, so they are taking action.

As the complete restoration of the Kakao service is delayed, interest in compensation for damage is growing.

Upbit, a cryptocurrency exchange, said last weekend that it would compensate for the loss of customers who could not sell their virtual currency in time due to the Kakao Talk 'mocking' incident.

In addition, we have decided to refund the transaction fee for 3 days to customers who have failed to log in.

Cafés have been opened on Naver to compensate for damages such as class-action lawsuits, and the Federation of Small Businesses has created a 'Kakao Damage Reception Center' to prepare countermeasures.
