According to the analyst, the price is influenced by several factors, one of which is the discussion in the European Commission of emergency measures to combat the energy crisis.

“In particular, for this purpose, instead of the gas price ceiling proposed earlier by some countries for all gas suppliers to the EU, a mechanism for centralized gas purchases can be introduced, which can work in the form of creating a syndicate of gas consumer countries, so that this syndicate centrally purchases exclusively with LNG on the exchange in order to fill UGS facilities by at least 10%,” she explained.

Milchakova clarified that if such a mechanism works, then European UGS facilities will accumulate quite large volumes of gas reserves in case of an emergency on the gas market.

“Growing supply can put downward pressure on prices.

At the same time, such a syndicate will not purchase pipeline gas from Russian suppliers, that is, from Gazprom, which, as before, worked on the basis of long-term contracts, will continue to work,” the analyst clarified.

The RT interlocutor believes that gas prices in the coming month may remain in the corridor of $ 1000-2000 per thousand cubic meters.

“They will also be influenced by the weather factor – the colder the last month of autumn turns out to be, the faster the gas from underground storage facilities will be spent, and the higher the prices will be,” she concluded.

Earlier it became known that gas prices in Europe fell below $1,200 per thousand cubic meters.
