Inflation rate in Egypt increased by 1.6 percent during the last month

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt announced today that the inflation rate for the month of September increased by 1.6 percent.



The agency said, in a press statement published on its website today, that the general consumer price index across the country reached 133.8 points last month, recording an increase of 1.6 percent from last August.



He attributed the reasons for this rise to an increase in the group of meat and poultry by 1.8 percent, the group of dairy, cheese and eggs by 4.4 percent, the group of vegetables by 6.2 percent, the group of smoke by 3.5 percent, the group of goods and services used in home maintenance by 3.7 percent, the group of products, devices and medical equipment by 1.3 percent, and the group of products, devices and medical equipment by 1.3 percent. Hospital services by 4.5 percent.



The agency indicated that the prices of the group of organized tourist trips decreased by 12.8%.



He explained that the annual inflation rate for the country's total during the last month recorded a rate of 15.3 percent, compared to 0.8 percent for the same month last year.
