Our coverage confirmed that Asiana Airlines is deducting mileage arbitrarily when customers use it.

It is not deducted from the old mileage, which is likely to expire, so you should check it carefully.

Mr. Kim, who recently used mileage to travel abroad.

But he noticed something odd about the mileage he used.

[Mr. Kim / Asiana Airlines member: It is old, so there are some things that will be used first, and it has been deducted from the mileage that should be left.]

I checked the mileage details.

I used 250,000 mileage points on this trip, but 134,000 points were deducted from the amount accumulated in 2012, and only a portion was deducted from the years 11 and 10, which are scheduled to be accumulated and expired first.

It was the same with Kim's husband.

94,000 points were deducted from the accumulated amount in 2013, when the validity period was long, and only a portion was deducted from the previous year.

When I complained to the airline, the reply came back saying that there was no way it could be done.

When the reporter asks again, the company says something different from the customer center.

[Asiana Airlines official: You can understand that among the mileage accumulated in these three years that have the same validity period, the mileage with an earlier month is deducted first.]

The validity period of the mileage accumulated before 2013 was extended due to Corona, but in the process, it was changed to a monthly deduction by grouping January in all years and subtracting February first, rather than deducting them in the order of oldest.

The mileage accumulated in Asiana is 920 billion won.

I did not answer how many and how many mileage was processed in this way.

In the case of Mr. Kim, it was possible to check because he had old mileage data, but it seems that there are quite a few customers who did not know how to deduct the jumbled amount.

[Mr. Kim / Asiana Airlines member: You don't usually do a capture, mostly.

However, I have a lot of (mileage), so I tried to refer to it from time to time, but I didn't know there would be such a big error.]

Asiana later admitted to the reporters and informed the reporters that they were fixing the system to deduct the mileage they accumulated first, but they still explained it to the customers. are not doing
