  Among them, USD 25.13 billion went to leasing and business services, up 25.1% year-on-year; USD 12.91 billion went to wholesale and retail, up 13% year-on-year; investments in manufacturing, construction, scientific research, and technical services also increased. The non-financial direct investment in countries along the “Belt and Road” was 13.95 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year, accounting for 18.6% of the total in the same period, an increase of 0.5 percentage points over the same period of the previous year.

  From January to August, the turnover of foreign contracted projects was 611.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.3% (equivalent to US$93.19 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1%); the value of newly signed contracts was 846.17 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9% (equivalent to US$128.98 billion) , down 7.2% year-on-year).

The turnover of contracted projects in countries along the “Belt and Road” was US$50.75 billion, and the value of newly signed contracts was US$66.76 billion, accounting for 54.5% and 51.8% of the total respectively.
