The price hikes for milk and dairy products have been decided one after another.

Morinaga Milk Industry and Megmilk Snow Brand have also announced that they will raise prices after shipments in November, following the Meiji era, in response to rising production costs of raw milk.

Of these, Morinaga Milk Industry will raise the price of 105 products, including milk, yogurt, and baby milk, from shipments in November and December this year.

It is said that the range of increase will be about 3% to 10% in suggested retail price and shipping price.

On the other hand, Megmilk Snow Brand will raise the prices of a total of 67 products, including milk, soft drinks, and yogurt, starting with shipments in November.

The range of increase is said to be from 4% to about 12% in the suggested retail price of products sold in stores, and from about 5% to 8% in the shipping price of home delivery products.

Both companies have raised the transaction price with raw milk producers' associations in response to soaring feed and energy prices, and the cost of packaging materials has increased.

The Meiji government also announced price increases for milk and dairy products this week, and prices for familiar foods that are essential to our lives continue to rise.
