Many people are afraid of making kimchi as the price of vegetables such as cabbage and radish has risen sharply.

I would rather buy it, but the price of packaged kimchi is also rising. In the meantime, imports of kimchi from China have increased significantly.

I looked at the prices of ingredients used in kimchi at the market.

One cabbage is 11,000 won, one radish is 5,000 won, and one chive is 15,000 won.

The price has gone down since last week, but it's still twice as expensive as the normal year.

The heat that came early, the frequent rains, and the recent typhoons have had a negative impact on crop production, resulting in poor quality and rising prices.

As there are many cases where the inside is rotten or soft, consumers have been requesting a refund. Recently, marts are selling cabbages cut in half so that you can see the inside.

Because the ingredients are not properly supplied, the online shopping mall of a packaged kimchi company has been out of stock for a month, including kimchi, bachelor kimchi, and green onion kimchi.

Packed kimchi makers have started raising prices again for the first time in half a year due to the growing cost burden.

Starting next month, those producing 'Jonggajip' kimchi will raise the price of kimchi products by an average of 9.8%, and CJ CheilJedang will raise the price of 'bibigo' kimchi by an average of 11% from next month.

As the price of Chinese cabbage and Korean kimchi soared, the demand for relatively cheap Chinese kimchi is increasing.

This year, imports of kimchi from China increased by 27.6% compared to the same period last year.

This trend is expected to continue until the end of this month, when the cabbage harvest in the semi-highland regions begins in earnest.
