At 12:52 on September 5, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
According to the "Ministry of Water Resources Emergency Response Work Regulations for Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention", the Ministry of Water Resources launched a level IV emergency response to flood and drought disaster prevention in Sichuan Province at 9:00 on the 6th to guide and urge Sichuan Province to carry out related work.
The first is to further investigate the water conservancy projects in the earthquake area, establish a list of water conservancy projects damaged by the earthquake, and implement emergency response measures one by one.
The second is to closely follow the dangerous situation of the Donghe dammed lake in the tributary of the Dadu River, strengthen emergency monitoring, transfer the people in the threatened area in time, and deal with the dangerous situation scientifically and effectively.
The third is to closely monitor the development of rain conditions, water conditions and flood conditions, conduct continuous consultations and judgments, and do a good job in water conservancy project scheduling and flood prevention.
The fourth is to promptly send information such as earthquake damage investigation and emergency response of water conservancy projects.
According to preliminary statistics, as of 00:00 on September 6, the Sichuan Water Conservancy Department has dispatched a total of 283 teams of 1,327 people to investigate 163 reservoirs, 1,104 hydropower stations, 142 embankments, 32 culverts and gates, 28 irrigation projects, and 1,457 key water supply projects. There are 656 areas at risk of mountain torrent disasters, and a total of 1 medium-sized hydropower station, 6 small-scale hydropower stations, 7 water supply projects, 5 channels and 2 embankments were found to be damaged by the earthquake.
