"Our interest in Deutsche Lufthansa AG is unbroken," emphasized Kühne in a statement published on Tuesday.
After a constructive conversation with CEO Carsten Spohr and chief supervisor Karl-Ludwig Kley, he "joined the intention to acquire further Lufthansa shares when opportunities arise." Kühne Holding already holds 15.01 percent.
In August, the billionaire said in an interview with the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" that he did not want to take over the ten percent share of the federal government.
