Combi, a major baby product company, has announced that it will raise the prices of strollers, child seats and other products by up to 14%, citing rising raw material prices and logistics costs.

The implementation will start from next month's orders, and it will be the first price increase in eight years.

The price increases are for baby strollers, child seats, and baby racks and chairs that function as both cradles and chairs. Of these, the suggested retail price of 45 items will be raised by 3% to 14%.

The main product of the stroller will be raised to 60,000 yen from 57,000 yen excluding tax.

As for the reason for the price increase, the company points out that the price of raw materials such as plastic is rising due to the impact of soaring crude oil prices, and that the logistics cost for transporting from overseas factories to Japan is also rising.

According to the company, the price has been raised for the first time in about eight years since November 2014, and although it has been working to reduce costs, it is difficult to maintain the conventional price with corporate efforts alone.
