“Perhaps one of the interesting ambitious projects is the idea of creating a new border cluster on Bolshoi Ussuriysky Island, which could become a free trade zone between Russia and China, a zone for the exchange of goods,” he told RIA Novosti.

According to the minister, Bolshoy Ussuriisk is perfect for creating a semblance of the Khorgos Chinese-Kazakhstan border cooperation center.

“We will make such proposals to the Chinese side,” he added.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador Lyudmila Vorobyova announced negotiations on a free trade zone between the EAEU and Indonesia.

She noted that the process could be launched before the end of the year.
