The Turkish head of a cryptocurrency trading platform has been arrested in Albania.

Faruk Fatih Özer, who is suspected of fraud, was arrested in southern Albania, the Turkish Ministry of the Interior announced on Tuesday.

They were informed about this by the Albanian Ministry of the Interior.

In April 2021, the Turkish public prosecutor's office launched investigations into those responsible for the Thodex and Özer platforms after no transactions could be carried out on the platform for several days.

Özer was reported for serious fraud, but had already left Turkey and was internationally wanted.

More than 60 employees were arrested.

Özer has denied the allegations.
