At the meeting, Joyoung Public Welfare Foundation pledged to fund 30 eligible schools in Qiantang District to build “food education workshops”. Under the guidance of the new policy, Qiantang District and Jiuyang Public Welfare Foundation summed up the pilot exploration experience of "food education workshop" in four units including Wenqing Primary School, Jinshahu Experimental School, Yangzheng Primary School, and Youth Palace in Qiantang District, relying on their own resources In the new semester, the full coverage of the "food education workshop" will be implemented.
At the press conference, Qian Xiaohua, director of the Education Bureau of Qiantang District, introduced that starting from the fall semester, schools in Qiantang District will offer labor courses for an average of no less than 1 hour per week, and make unified arrangements to promote the construction of regional "food education workshops" and "food education workshops". "Course" implementation and "labor education" compulsory courses are fully covered, and the venue, equipment, courses, and teachers for the "cooking and nutrition" task group are tailored for the children who apply for the school. Joyoung Public Welfare Foundation gives each school a value of 100,000 Yuan Workshop equipment and other funding, the Education Bureau of the model school generated by the review will give 20,000-50,000 yuan in incentive funds.

It is understood that Joyoung began to explore food education as early as 2014, and has funded 159 schools across the country to carry out food education workshops. Three model school principals share their experience in implementing food education courses
As the largest pilot school of food education workshop in Zhejiang Province, Qiantang Jinshahu Experimental School began to prepare students' kitchens and formulate food education courses in 2017. The school is funded by Joyoung to support a series of kitchen appliances such as ovens and steamers, as well as equipment that can be A 6-burner stove for 6 students to cook at the same time.
According to Liao Zhiyong, the principal of Jinshahu Experimental School, the school is equipped with full-time teachers, who compile school-based teaching materials for food education, and provide students with practical interaction both inside and outside the classroom.
In June last year, relying on the school's smart farm, it has been able to achieve self-sufficiency in the entire industry chain.
Grade 5 students can enter the Food Education Workshop once every two weeks, and there are also themed activities such as the Huyou Festival and the Little Chef Competition.
After several years of labor practice, there have been many "little chefs" among the students. At the event, the students also showed the cooking of home-cooked dishes such as tomato scrambled eggs, stewed pork ribs with radish, and fried celery.
Yangzheng Primary School has implemented the food education course as an extended club course for one year.
Zhang Ying, vice-principal of Yangzheng Elementary School, said that the school uses food education as a carrier to promote the simultaneous development of five educations, and integrates education such as gratitude, frugality, and etiquette.
Wenqing Primary School started the exploration of food education in 2016. At present, the curriculum structure of “Beautiful Food and Light” has been established. From the preliminary task list, to the selection in the implementation process, to the later evaluation and thinking, the quality of students has been included. The report sheet guides students to find and solve problems.
The food education course "Seeking Charm Qiantang" developed by the school was also rated as the 15th "Hangzhou Compulsory Education Excellent Course".
