"We have put in place a 'zero inflation' shield with the freezing of the price of school catering and transport", declared Valérie Pécresse, during the presentation conference for the 2022-2023 start of the new school year for high schools in the Ile-de-France region at the headquarters. region in Saint-Ouen.

"A financial effort of 4 million euros"

The Île-de-France region, where "the cost of living is the most expensive", will concede "a financial effort of 4 million euros" so as not to "pass on families the increase in raw materials", detailed the elected LR.

Since the start of the 2021 school year, high school students from modest families, around 14,000 students, have benefited from a meal rate of 50 cents, or "a saving of 80 euros per month", according to figures from the region.

The price of the Imagine R pass, which gives access to transport in Île-de-France, remains unchanged for the sixth consecutive year, set at 350 euros.

An emergency plan for high schools at 6.6 billion euros

All students in public high schools in the Ile-de-France benefit from a personal computer when they enter second, which they will own at the end of their secondary studies, indicates the region.

At the start of the school year, the 474 public establishments in Île-de-France will all be equipped with distributors of periodic protection.

To respond to a growing population, by 2028, the Île-de-France region wishes to launch the construction of eleven high schools and six extensions and achieve the objective of 30,600 places created in 10 years.

The budget for the emergency plan for Ile-de-France high schools for the period 2017-2027 amounts to 6.6 billion euros.

To fight against school dropout, "an agency for orientation and republican promise" will offer solutions in 2023 to students to find their way, choose their school course, their training or find an internship. 

In terms of security, Valérie Pécresse doubled the regional security brigades, from 5 to 10 teams, i.e. 50 agents.

This brigade intervenes at the request of the heads of establishments and their mission is "to ensure the safety of goods and people in and around high schools, to contribute to the implementation of a prevention policy and to deal with cases serious crisis compromising the safety of people and property by supporting the management teams", details the region in a press release.
