4.1 billion dirhams, market gains for local shares

Local stock markets gained about 4.1 billion dirhams at the close of trading yesterday, drawing support from major stocks in the banking, real estate and utilities sectors.

The market capital of the listed shares rose from 2.669 trillion dirhams at the end of the day before yesterday's session, to 2.673 trillion dirhams at the end of yesterday's session, distributed by 2.1 trillion dirhams for shares listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange and 573.06 billion dirhams for shares listed on the Dubai Financial Market.

Local shares attracted more than 1.57 billion dirhams of liquidity, distributed as 1.29 billion dirhams in the Abu Dhabi market and 281.7 million dirhams in the Dubai market, and about 366.03 million shares were traded through the implementation of more than 16.8 thousand transactions.

The Dubai Financial Market index rose 0.79% at the end of trading yesterday, closing at 3,463.59 points, with transactions worth 282 million dirhams. The market witnessed an increase in the shares of 17 companies, out of 31 companies that were traded yesterday, while the shares of nine companies declined, and five remained stable.

Shares of "Emaar Properties" rose by 2.6% to 6.20 dirhams, and transactions exceeded 22 million shares. The shares of "Emirates NBD" and "Dubai Electricity and Water Authority" rose 0.73% for the first, and 0.77% for the second.

The most heavily traded stock was «Ithmaar Holding», which increased by 1.9% to 0.215 dirhams, with a traded volume of nearly 32 million shares.

On the other hand, the Abu Dhabi market index "FADEX 15" closed stable at the level of 9970.11 points, with transactions worth a total of 1.3 billion dirhams.

Of the 58 companies whose shares were traded yesterday, the shares of 29 companies rose, while the shares of 19 others declined, and 10 remained stable.

The "First Abu Dhabi" share declined by 0.2% to 19.56 dirhams, with trading of nearly nine million shares.

While «Multiplay» shares increased by 0.5% to reach 2.18 dirhams, with a traded volume of 59 million shares.
