Ruili borders Myanmar on three sides. The border residents of the two countries have shared the same river and walked the same road for thousands of years. Intermarriage and mutual market exchanges are frequent, and a profound Paukphaw friendship has been established.

Due to the harmonious exchanges and rapid development on the Sino-Myanmar border, more and more Myanmar youths choose to seek development in Dehong Prefecture.
