The prancing horse brand has unveiled the 296 GT3, the racing version of the 296 GTB, with a surprise under the hood: we no longer find the electric motor capable of propelling the road car up to 25 km in fully electric mode.
The reason is very simple: to compete in the various GT3 championships, the 296 cannot call on any electrification.
It is prohibited by the rules.
The new 296 GT3 will therefore only be powered by the V6 turbo engine.
In the race car, it can develop up to 600 horsepower, while the road car, with its hybrid system, offers up to 830 horsepower!
