“We believe that it is expedient to resume the issuance of ten-ruble notes.

We are also discussing the issue of resuming the printing of five-ruble banknotes, which stopped ordering from Goznak after 1998, ”Izvestia quoted Belov as saying.

He recalled that in the 2000s, these banknotes were in active circulation, but quickly wore out, so it was decided to replace them with coins.

Thanks to modern technologies for varnishing banknotes, it is possible to increase their service life by 30%, Belov specified.

At the same time, coins with a face value of five and ten rubles will also remain in circulation, he concluded.

On June 30, the Bank of Russia put into circulation a new 100-ruble banknote.

On the front side is a fragment of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin with chimes, on the back - the Rzhevsky Memorial to the Soviet Soldier.

It is noted that the new banknote contains a reinforced security complex, like the 200-ruble note that appeared earlier.

Candidate of Economic Sciences Mikhail Belyaev commented in an interview with RT on the introduction by the Central Bank of a new 100-ruble banknote into circulation.
