The Assistant Undersecretary for the Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Sector at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Ahmed Muhammad Al-Kaabi, confirmed that “the ministry is working to complete the first strategy to foresee the future of mineral wealth in the country, during the current year, and the sector’s goals have been set for the coming years, in coordination with partners from local and federal governments. In addition to the private sector.

Al-Kaabi said that "the objectives of the mineral wealth sector focused on exploiting advanced technologies and modern technology in developing the sector, with a focus on resource sustainability and environmental protection."

He added, "The ministry has achieved many achievements in this field, as it issued the first reference book in Arabic on the geological development of the UAE during more than 600 million years, in addition to issuing the first atlas of rocks and minerals in the country in both Arabic and English."

Al Kaabi pointed out that the Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources, and the accompanying exhibition, is one of the most important Arab conferences specialized in mineral wealth and is held once every two years, pointing out that the conference is being held for the first time in the country under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State. It will be held in the Emirate of Fujairah during the period (22-24 February).

He stressed that the mineral wealth sector in the country is of great strategic importance, especially in the post-oil phase, both in terms of the presence of reserves and existing and potential industries, which is considered an important tributary of the economy.

He said that the mining industries constitute a cornerstone of any future investments and projects in this sector, and the state is rich in the presence of abundant reserves of mineral wealth, including rocks and minerals suitable for exploitation in many industries that are based on these wealth.

He said, "The Emirati youth play an important role in the development of this sector, and this sector has provided many diverse technical job opportunities, such as civil engineers and geologists, in addition to administrative and information technology jobs."
