Recognizable by their reflective bands placed on the nose and at the back, their serigraphs and their discreet flashing light, the first two Alpine delivered to the French gendarmerie were unveiled by the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin.
The first examples of an order for 26 vehicles awarded after a call for tenders, the Alpine A110 have a mechanical 1.8 turbo of 252 hp which allows them to reach the maximum speed of 250 km / h, a crucial characteristic in the framework. the mission of the BRI, which includes, among other things, securing the motorways and the fight against "go fast", those cars laden with drugs that cross Europe at full speed.
This is not the first time that the gendarmerie has driven an Alpine, since it has already owned A110s and A310s in the 1970s.
