So far, the "heart" of the Baihetan Hydropower Station's 16 million-kilowatt generating units have all been installed.
At 9:08 in the morning, following an order from the commander of the China Energy Construction Gezhouba Mechanical and Electrical Company, the runner of Unit 9 was slowly hoisted nearly 8 meters from the ground under the traction of the 1,300-ton bridge crane at the right bank plant, from the main installation room of the plant After moving 67 meters in the direction of pit 9 at a constant speed, it slowly fell into pit 9 and took 60 minutes.
The successful hoisting of the runner marks that Unit 9 has entered the final assembly stage of the turbine, laying the foundation for the realization of the goal of safe and punctual commissioning of all units in July next year.
