In 2020, there will be a total of 4,418 companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets, and more than 70% of listed companies have not yet issued environmental information disclosure reports.

  The evaluation results show that there will be a total of 4,418 companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets in 2020, and a total of 1,135 companies that have issued effective samples of social responsibility reports, environmental reports, sustainability reports, and environmental, social and management (ESG) reports, compared with 2019 The annual increase was 129, accounting for 25.69% of the 4,418 listed companies.

  The report shows that in the context of the “dual carbon” strategy, among the 1,135 effective sample companies, the average score for greenhouse gas disclosure was 17.80%.

Among them, 803 (accounting for 70.75% of the total number of releases) disclosed carbon information to varying degrees, indicating that the "dual carbon" strategy has received a certain degree of attention within the environmental responsibility information disclosure framework of these listed companies.

  According to the report, listed companies are divided into six categories: state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, public enterprises, foreign-funded enterprises, collective enterprises, and other enterprises according to their ownership, and there is a significant gap in the level of disclosure.

  According to the information notified by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in 2020, it was discovered that after a listed company was notified or punished due to environmental issues, it did not disclose relevant information on its corporate website, corporate social responsibility report or other environmental reports.

  The report suggests that it is hoped that through the evaluation of the level of environmental responsibility information disclosure, the awareness of enterprises to undertake and protect the ecological environment and their values ​​of ecological protection will be improved, so as to promote the establishment of a self-discipline system for environmental protection in the whole society.
