According to the barometer of the firm "Human Footprint", burnouts have been increasing in France since the end of spring, a period of relaxation of the restrictions imposed against the coronavirus.

At work, employees are more and more exhausted, losing their meaning, resulting in numerous sick leaves.

This is a sign that France in the post-Covid-19 crisis is not doing so well: the number of burnouts has exploded, with a 25% increase in the number of cases over the last four months, according to "Human Footprint".

The firm, specializing in the prevention of psychosocial risks and author of a barometer that has taken the pulse of employees since the start of the pandemic, estimates that 2.5 million employees are suffering.

"People are falling apart psychologically"

Admittedly, in general, since the gradual return to the office, the psychological health of employees has improved: the level of distress is down 6% compared to last May, it is even -14% for employees. managers, but it is still twice as much as before the health crisis. And so there are these burnouts, which are always more numerous in the second half of 2021.

How to explain it?

"Very large working hours during the imposed teleworking, difficulties also in differentiating professional and personal life from a psychological point of view", points out Christophe N'Guyen, work psychologist and president of the firm Empreinte Humaine.

"We are talking about severe burn-out, that is to say states where people decompensate, collapse psychologically and can be hospitalized. This is what we hear more and more about. field."
