Air Arabia and Luxon Group launch low-cost airline in Pakistan

Air Arabia and the Laxon Group in Pakistan announced the launch of a new Pakistani airline, named "Fly Jinnah." The joint venture will see the establishment of a low-cost airline, aiming to meet the needs of domestic and international destinations, from Pakistan.

The new airline will support the strategic vision of the travel and tourism sector in Pakistan, and will contribute to supporting the country's economic growth process, in addition to providing reliable and affordable travel services.


Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Arabia, said in a statement yesterday: “Air Arabia Group is pleased to sign a partnership agreement with (Laxon Group), as part of this joint project to launch the new low-cost airline in Pakistan. I am confident that (Fly Suite) will add sustainable value to the local economy, by providing more job opportunities, and contributing to the development of the travel and tourism sector. We thank the Laxon Group and the Pakistani government for their trust in us, and we look forward to cooperating in the framework of establishing the new airline that will provide the Pakistani people with air travel options that provide the best value-added services.”


For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Laxon Group”, Iqbal Ali Lakhani, said: “We are pleased to cooperate with (Air Arabia) to launch the new low-cost airline in Pakistan, under the name (Flywing), which will contribute to meeting the needs of the travel and tourism sector in the country. and support its economic growth.


From its initial headquarters in Karachi, Fly Jinnah will offer a range of domestic destinations across Pakistan, and will later expand its international network of destinations. The new company will adopt a low-cost economic business model, providing its customers with reliable operations and value-driven services.


Soon, work will begin on issuing the air operator's certificate, which will allow the new company to start practicing its operations. Details of the launch date, fleet, and network of destinations will be announced in due course.


Air Arabia operates flights from Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, and has similar joint projects in Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Morocco and Armenia.

The company's shares are listed on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

The company is seeking to expand in the wake of the outbreak of the Corona virus last year, as low-cost airlines bet on an improvement in travel activity after the pandemic.


Soon, work will begin on issuing the air operator's certificate, which will allow the new company to conduct its operations.
