As the discussion with the Minimum Wage Committee over next year's minimum wage is in turmoil, the labor and management circles propose amendments to narrow their differences.

The Minimum Wage Committee will hold its 8th plenary meeting today (8th) at the Government Complex in Sejong and continue to discuss next year's minimum wage.

Earlier, at the 6th plenary meeting on the 29th of last month, the labor union, which submitted 10,800 won per hour, and the business community, which submitted a proposal to freeze 8,720 won, must submit an amendment at this meeting at the request of Chairman Park Jun-sik.

Chairman Park's request for the amendment is to narrow the gap between labor and management to advance the deliberation on the minimum wage.

If you cannot find a contact point even after submitting the amendment, you can request the 2nd or 3rd amendment.

The suggestion is to propose a 'promotion section for deliberation' and make amendments within that range.

However, it is expected that it will be difficult to find a point of contact due to the large difference of opinion between labor and management.

This means that next year's minimum wage is more likely to be decided by a vote battle rather than an agreement.

The Minimum Wage Committee has made a tentative plan to hold the 9th plenary meeting on the 12th of this month.

Under the current law, the deadline to announce the minimum wage is August 5.

Considering that the minimum wage review must be completed by the middle of this month at the latest, it is highly likely that next year's minimum wage will be decided on the night of the 12th or early in the morning on the 13th.
