More than four months after the takeover of the organic specialty stores c'Bon, Carrefour will transform fifteen of these brands into Carrefour City.

Conversely, twenty-four Bio Carrefours will become Bio c'Bon.

The group hopes, with the conquest of the organic market in the city, to achieve 4.8 billion euros in turnover in organic products in 2022.

INTERVIEW

At the beginning of November 2020, the Carrefour group bought back 107 Bio c'Bon points of sale for an amount of 60 million euros and 40 million euros in investments.

The large-scale distribution company, which already owns the Carrefour Bio and So Bio brands, wants to develop this specialized market.

Its director of organic markets, Benoît Soury announced Monday on Europe 1 that twenty-four Bio Carrefours will become Bio c'Bon.

Fifteen Bio c'Bon out of the 107 grocery stores bought by the French company will for their part be transformed into Carrefour City convenience stores.

"I am announcing to you today that we are going to transform the Carrefour Bio branch: 24 stores will stop using this banner to join Bio c'est bon", says Carrefour's organic markets director, Benoît Soury, in the '

La France Bouge' program

on Europe 1.

The objective: to achieve 4.8 billion euros in turnover in organic products in 2022

The group already had around twenty So Bio stores and a few dozen Carrefour Bio before the takeover of Bio c'Bon.

A strategic investment that allows Carrefour to establish itself in cities with Bio c'Bon, since it is already present in the outskirts with So Bio.

"This is an essential axis of the food transition for all, it is the vocation of Carrefour, it is in our statutes now ", assures the director of the organic market of the mark.

Before concluding: "We will continue to invest because we believe and we see that organic consumers are very attached to their brands, an asset in supermarkets, specialized stores and e-commerce."
