The Dubai Statistics Center reported that the general annual consumer price index decreased by 4.5% in February 2021 compared to the same month last year, as a result of a decline in the prices of six commodity groups.

The center stated in a report today that the prices of the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel section decreased by 9.14%, which reduced the index by 3.72 points, in addition to the decrease in the prices of the transportation section by 6.81%, which decreased the index by 0.75 points, in addition to the decline in the prices of the entertainment and culture section by 5.64. %, Which lowered the index by 0.11 points.

He added that the prices of the food and beverage section decreased by 0.43%, which reduced the index by 0.06 points, in addition to the decrease in the prices of the clothing and footwear section by 2.57%, which reduced the index by 0.05 points, while the prices of the health department decreased by 0.01%.

On the other hand, the report indicated that the prices of each of the various commodities and services increased by 1.46%, which pushed the index by 0.09 points, the restaurants and hotels section by 0.80%, which pushed the index by 0.04 points, and the education section by 0.36%, which pushed the index by 0.03 points, and the division of Furniture and furnishing, household appliances and repair by 0.59%, which pushed the index by 0.02 points, the communications division by 0.14%, which pushed the index by 0.01 points, and the tobacco division by 0.10%.
