Japanese fashion brand UNIQLO is withdrawing an additional 10 stores in Korea this month.

According to UNIQLO, on the 18th, stores in 8 locations including Homeplus Vacation Store, Mokdong Store, Gangseo Store, Seongseo Store, Asiad Store, Chilgok Store, Haeundae Store, and Donggwangju Store will be closed.

In addition, the Lotte Department Store Merchant and Gwangju branches are also closed on the 19th and 25th, respectively.

UNIQLO said, "It is part of a business strategy to operate stores more efficiently, taking into account complex factors such as the prolonged Corona 19 and changes in consumption trends," and said there are no plans to close additional stores after this month.

The number of UNIQLO stores reached 187 as of the end of 2019, but it started to decline as the economic recession caused by Corona 19 overlapped with the'No Japan' boycott triggered by Japanese export restrictions to Korea.

At the end of last month, the Myeongdong Store, which was the second largest Uniqlo flagship store in the world when it opened in 2011, was closed.
