This is why Twitter has frozen the accounts of African supporters of Trump

Twitter announced that it had frozen many fake accounts that pretended to be pro-President Donald Trump, and managed to attract thousands of subscribers within a few days.

A spokesperson for the San Francisco-based group said, "Our teams are working relentlessly to investigate this activity and will take action according to (Twitter) rules if the tweets violate" those rules.

Twitter froze these accounts because it misleads users about the intentions and identities of those account holders and thus undermines the integrity of the public debate.

Darren Linville, a professor at Clemson University who specializes in misinformation on social media, has posted examples of these fake accounts on his Twitter account.

One of these accounts, Ted Katia, posted on September 17 a tweet: “Yes, I am black and vote for Trump, the leftists will not like it, but I don’t care!”

This tweet received more than 16,000 likes and was shared more than 6000 times.

Commenting on these tweets, Linville said that most of these accounts "use pictures of real Americans in their profiles, and many of them have been followed by tens of thousands of subscribers."
