China News Service, Yantai, September 10 (Wang Jiaoni) On the 10th, the Shandong Provincial Government held a mobilization meeting for the construction of Wei-Yan high-speed rail and Lai-Rong high-speed rail projects to promote the construction of the Jiaodong Peninsula ring high-speed rail network.

The conference will have venues in Yantai and Weihai, and the activities of the two venues will be held simultaneously through video connections.

Wei-Yan high-speed railway and Lai-Rong high-speed railway are key transportation infrastructure projects in Shandong Province. The two projects pass through 16 counties and cities in 4 cities including Qingdao, Yantai, Weifang, and Weihai, benefiting 28 million people along the line.

Among them, the Wei-Yan high-speed rail is an important part of the coastal high-speed rail channel in the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network. The line starts from Changyi South Station in the west, passes through Weifang, Qingdao, and Yantai, and connects to Zhifu Station. The main line is 237 kilometers long.

The Lai-Rong high-speed rail is an extension of the Qingyin high-speed rail channel to the Shandong Peninsula. The line starts from Lai Northwest Station in the west, passes through Qingdao, Yantai, and Weihai, and connects to Rongcheng Station. The main line is 193 kilometers long.

It is reported that the Wei-Yan high-speed rail and Lai-Rong high-speed rail are fast and large passages for foreign passenger exchanges in the Jiaodong Peninsula, especially in Yantai and Weihai. They will complement the shortcomings of the high-speed rail development in the Jiaodong Peninsula, build a ring-shaped high-speed rail network in the Jiaodong Peninsula, and promote the integration of the Jiaodong economic circle. It is a landmark to build a peninsula city cluster on the track.

Since the beginning of this year, the transportation system of Shandong Province has accelerated the construction of major railway projects in an all-round way. As of the end of August, the province’s railway has invested a total of 33.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.2%.
